The Weekly Chow-Down: Miss Lily's Jamaican Restaurant NYC

U know, for a long time I kept hearing about this lil' Jamaican restaurant in the Village called Miss Lily's.  Everybody that knows me, knows I am a Jamaican with a critical palate and I'm always complaining about having to trek out to BK or Queens to get some good Jamaican food. So when I hear so many people telling me about a spot in the city, in the Vill no less, with good yard food, I take it with a grain of salt. So this past Wednesday I have a serious craving for some OX Tail and rice and Peas and automatically think about giving Miss lily's a try. Boy am I happy I did! I'm still thinking about it days later! That was the best meal I have had in a really long time!

Here's the breakdown! Arrived at the spot and hit the bar for 10 min while my table was getting ready. It has a really cool atmosphere and lots of beautiful looking people come thru here. The tunes are strictly dance hall and rockers reggae that suits every mood. Talk about awesome atmosphere.! As for  liquor, This place only serves awesome beer (Red Stripe,Guiness) and wine, as well as sake and Soju, a Korean kind of vodka at the bar. The Soju is awesome, and after a few with passion fruit  i was ready to consume mass quantities.  I was seated and ordered some a appetizer of fish tacos and Ackee dip and plantain chips, and an entree of Ox Tail and Jerk Chicken for my Guest.

The appetizers where Off the hook.  literally I mean off the hook!! Then it comes time for the Ox Tail and Jerk Chicken.  OMG WTF!!! All i remember is saying to myself over and over in my head, "this is so good, this is soooo good. ( not clear out loud but more like a hungry neanderthal mumbling it while he's eating)

I am permanently stuck on this place right now.  i will be back there at least three times this week guaranteed. You need to try this place ASAP, trust me.  If I'm wrong I'll go again with you, but your paying!

The address is 132 W Houston St (between Sullivan St & Mac Dougal St)

If you go make sure to tell me about it!!! Oh yeah, better make a reservation in advance.  Bon Apetit!
